2007 Workfest place holder

2007 Annual Workfest & Barbecue – Join the Festivities  – Volunteers Needed!  -  Saturday, April 28

The SSB will be having Workfest 2007 on Saturday, April 28th starting at 9:00am and going until 4:00pm. This year’s event will be just that – an event. Work at the airport will start at 9:00am. At 4:00 there will be a full barbecue with grilled treats, salads, snacks and desserts. Members can help by bringing a dessert, salad, or your favorite side dish. Beer and soft drinks will also be provided. . All SSB members and their families are invited to the Barbecue starting at 4:00.

As the fleet will be grounded for maintenance and cleaning there will be no flying on the day of the Workfest and barbecue. As has been our custom for the past 6 years a $10.00 Maintenance Assessment will be charged to each SSB Regular and Associate SSB member. If you signup for a work party and show up for your work you will get full credit for this amount and owe nothing. If you don’t show up you will receive a $10 maintenance assessment on your monthly SSB statement. The only exemption is for those members who sign up for a job and complete it BEFORE Workfest. So if you can't make it to Workfest you can still help out and avoid the Maintenance Assessment. Proceeds from the maintenance assessment will help defer material and cleaning supply costs.

Regardless of your participation in Workfest all SSB members and their families are invited to the BBQ.   Bring out some lawn chairs, and maybe a table and join us for the fun.  The rain date for Workfest 2007 and barbecue is Saturday May12.

The club needs 35 or 40 volunteers to make Workfest 2007 a success. Each task will have a team leader responsible for arranging the supplies and tools to get the job done. Pick your task and sign up as a team leader or lend a hand on a team.

Free BEER!!!

Yes, that's right! You may not have known this if you are a new member but there is beer at the SSB Workfest BBQ, and you don't even need to BYOB! If you haven't signed up, we forgive you. But it would be nice if you would sign up now. Workfest is a week from this coming Saturday. BBQ is at 6. For all of you members who have signed up - THANKS!! Looks like we will have a great turnout and it should be a great time. If you haven't emailed me yet with a count for the BBQ (you plus how many?), please do - 2007 Workfest Commander(Doug Weibel)
I have quite a few members who have signed up and I haven't yet assigned you a job (or if you requested something specific and I haven't confirmed). Please don't panic. We usually can find plenty to keep everyone busy ;)
