Annual Workfest & Barbecue Completed! - Saturday, May 11
Spring is in the air and its time for the annual SSB Workfest and BBQ. Come out and help spruce up the Club’s facilities and ships, and enjoy the company of fellow SSB members. The Workfest is scheduled for Saturday, 11 May, with a backup rain date of 18 May. Workfest begins at 9AM, followed by the cookout and hand launched glider contest starting at 4PM. That’s right, see if you can win the day with the balsa gliders I’ll provide! We’ll feast on grilled treats, salads, snacks and desserts. Members can help by bringing a dessert, salad, or your favorite side dish. Beer and soft drinks will also be provided.
If you are unable to attend the workfest, you will be assessed a $10 Maintenance Assessment. Sign up for a task and show up ready to help and have a good time. If you cannot help at the Workfest, you and your family are of course welcome to attend the afternoon BBQ (but you will still get billed $10). It is sure to be fun, and we need a good turnout to make Workfest 2002 a success. Sign up sheets will be out at the field, or send an e-mail to me at Bill Hoadley, and I’ll put you on the list (See the SSB website for available tasks). See you at the field. Bill Hoadley, Workfest 2002 Taskmaster
Regardless of your participation in Workfest all SSB members and their families are invited to the BBQ. There will be chairs and tables but it never hurts to bring a chair or two.The club needs 35 or 40 volunteers to make Workfest 2002 a success. Each task will have a team leader responsible for arranging the supplies and tools to get the job done. Pick your task and sign up as a team leader or lend a hand on a team. See last years photos.
